Friendly and Enemy Numbers in Numerology: The Complete Compatibility Chart — illustration

The compatibility chart is the backbone of mobile numerology. Whether you are judging the total of a phone number, the total of a PIN, a password word or a phone colour, the verdict comes from this table: friendly totals strengthen you, enemy totals create friction, neutral totals do neither.

The chart

NumberPlanetFriendlyEnemyNeutral
1Sun1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 984, 7
2Moon1, 3, 54, 8, 92, 6, 7
3Jupiter1, 2, 3, 564, 7, 8, 9
4Rahu1, 5, 6, 72, 4, 8, 93
5Mercury1, 2, 3, 5, 64, 7, 8, 9
6Venus1, 5, 6, 732, 4, 8, 9
7Ketu1, 3, 4, 5, 627, 8, 9
8Saturn3, 5, 6, 71, 2, 4, 8, 9
9Mars1, 2, 3, 5, 64, 87, 9

This is the standard Chaldean / Lo Shu compatibility chart used by most Indian numerologists and by our analyser. Small variations exist between schools, so if your teacher uses a slightly different table, follow theirs consistently.

Patterns worth noticing

  • 1 and 5 are friends with almost everyone. The Sun and Mercury are the safest digits to add anywhere.
  • 8 is an enemy of five numbers — including itself. This is why 8 is treated so carefully in phone numbers and passwords.
  • Some pairs are one-sided. 3 counts 6 as an enemy, and 6 counts 3 as an enemy; but 9 is friendly to 2 while 2 treats 9 as an enemy. Always read from your row.
  • 5 has no enemies at all.

Balancer numbers

A balancer is a number friendly to both your Birth number and your Destiny number. For BN 2 / DN 9 the balancers are 1, 3 and 5 (friendly in both rows). A phone-number total, PIN total or password total that lands on a balancer supports your nature and your direction at the same time — it is the target our generators aim for.

How the chart is applied

  1. Mobile number total: reduce all ten digits to one digit and read it against your BN and DN rows. Friendly on both = strong; enemy on either = the analyser deducts heavily.
  2. Digits inside the number: enemy digits scattered through the number are a mild negative; balancer digits a mild positive.
  3. PIN and password: the total should be friendly; enemy digits inside the PIN are avoided.
  4. Colours: each colour maps to a number; supportive if friendly, avoid if enemy.

Frequently asked questions

Why is 8 an enemy of 8?

Saturn on Saturn doubles delay and heaviness. In this chart 4 is also an enemy of 4 (Rahu on Rahu) for the same reason — the malefic numbers do not reinforce themselves well.

What if my Birth and Destiny numbers are enemies of each other?

It happens — for example BN 2 with DN 9. It does not doom you; it means your nature and your direction pull in different ways, and choosing balancer numbers (here 1, 3, 5) becomes especially useful.

Is a neutral number bad?

No. Neutral simply means no strong help or hindrance. A neutral total is acceptable; an enemy total is what to avoid.
