Lo Shu Grid Explained: How to Find Your Missing Numbers and Fix Them

The Lo Shu grid is a 3×3 magic square from ancient China in which every row, column and diagonal adds up to 15. In numerology we use it as a map: each digit of your date of birth is written into its box, and the boxes that stay empty reveal your missing numbers. Those missing numbers are the raw material for choosing a PIN and password.
The layout
| 4 | 9 | 2 |
| 3 | 5 | 7 |
| 8 | 1 | 6 |
The top row (4-9-2) is the mental plane, the middle row (3-5-7) the emotional plane and the bottom row (8-1-6) the practical plane. Columns run from thought (4-3-8) through will (9-5-1) to action (2-7-6).
How to fill it in
- Write out every digit of your date of birth, ignoring zeros. For 29/11/1994 that is 2, 9, 1, 1, 1, 9, 9, 4.
- If the day has two digits, also add the reduced Birth number (29 → 2).
- Add the Destiny number (here 9).
- Place each digit in its box. Repeated digits are written more than once — this person has 1 three times and 9 four times.
Result: boxes 1, 2, 4 and 9 are filled; 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are missing.

Adding the missing energies back
You cannot change your date of birth, but you can surround yourself with the missing digits. The class recommends putting them inside your PIN, so that you literally type them several times a day. The PIN's total should still be a friendly number for your Birth and Destiny numbers, ideally a balancer. Our PIN generator does exactly this: it builds four-digit combinations from your missing numbers, drops enemy digits and keeps only totals that are friendly to both numbers.
Repeated numbers matter too. Four 9s (Mars) in the example grid indicate intense energy that needs a calming outlet, which is why the wallpaper and affirmation for that person emphasise balance.

Our free calculator scans all 10 positions of your mobile number, finds your Birth & Destiny numbers and suggests a lucky PIN, password, wallpaper and cover — nothing you type leaves your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Do I include zeros in the Lo Shu grid?
No. There is no box for 0, so zeros in the day, month or year are skipped.
Should the Birth and Destiny numbers be added to the grid?
In the method used here, yes: the reduced Birth number (when the day has two digits) and the Destiny number are both added, which is why the grid can contain more digits than the date itself.
Can I have no missing numbers?
It is rare but possible when the date, Birth number and Destiny number between them cover all nine digits. In that case the PIN is chosen purely on friendly totals.
